POLICIES FOR CHILDREN'S BALLROOM DANCE CLASSES​​

DNA Dance Academy Calendar:
September 11, 2024: First Day of Classes
November 27-29, 2024: No Classes: Thanksgiving holiday
December 19: 2024: Last Day of Classes
December 23, 2024 - January 5, 2025: No Classes: Christmas and New Year Holidays
January 8, 2025: First Day of Classes for Spring Semester

DRESS CODE:
Children must wear appropriate dance attire for the dance class.
​
Boys: Black pants, body fitting top, Ballroom or Jazz Shoes, Socks.
Girls: Ballroom or Jazz shoes, Leotard, Skirt.

SIBLING DISCOUNT:
There is a 5% sibling discount applied to the second child and any additional children from the same family. Discounts cannot be combined. When enrolling online, please contact us for your personal sibling discount code.

FREE TRIAL CLASS:
There is a one time FREE trial that is offered for students who are new to DNA Dance Academy.

ATTENDANCE
Consistent and punctual attendance is essential for growth, stability and confidence. Please make every effort to attend all classes and arrive on time. Should a student have a planned absence due to a school commitment, trip/vacation, or other scheduled event, or is ill or injured, please inform DNA DANCE ACADEMY. Should a student miss a class, a make-up class can be arranged.

MAKEUP POLICY
All dancers are entitled to one in-person makeup classes this semester. Makeups do not carry over from semester to semester. Makeup class announcement will be made closer to the end of the Semester.

ENROLLING MID SEMESTER
If the child is enrolling mid-semester, then the Tuition Fee will be prorated according to the amount of classes that are left in the semester plus the registration fee.

WITHDRAWAL, DISMISSAL, and REFUNDS
All sales are final.
Withdrawal due to Injury or Illness
Should a student become unable to attend class due to a long-term injury or illness, tuition will be prorated for the time of the student's attendance and a refund will be issued or the payment plan will be canceled. A signed doctor's note is required for a tuition refund or payment plan cancellation.
Withdrawal for personal reasons before semester start
Should a student choose to withdraw from class due to personal reasons before the first class takes place, a tuition refund will be issued. Registration fees will not be refunded.
Withdrawal for personal reasons after semester start
Should a student choose to withdraw from class due to personal reasons after the first class takes place, a prorated refund for the remainder of the term will be issued, minus a $100 processing fee. Notice of intent to withdraw must be submitted in writing. If no written notice is provided, the full tuition amount will be charged and no refund will be issued.
Dismissal
DNA Dance Academy may have to dismiss children from class due to behavioral or other problems that preclude such children from safely participating in the program and/or with others in the program. No refund will be issued if such a circumstance arises.
WEATHER
DNA Dance Academy cannot and shall not be held responsible for extreme weather or other unforeseen events beyond DNA Dance Academy’s control.

RECITAL
All dancers enrolled in Winter/Spring session will have the opportunity to participate in our year-end recital held in June each year. An additional recital fee will be charged in order to participate. Please note, recital fees are non-refundable.

PROMOTIONAL PHOTOS & VIDEOS
DNA Dance Academy may use photographs and/or video that includes our students in promotional / advertising / website materials. If you prefer your student NOT be included, please let us know by contacting us and we will make a note of your preferences.

PARENTS IN CLASS
Guests, including parents/guardians and family members, are not allowed inside the ballroom to observe during classes unless it is during scheduled Observation Weeks.

OBSERVATIONAL CLASSES
Observational classes will be scheduled so that parents can view the class. Observational classes will be announced by the faculty.

CONDUCT AND ETIQUETTE
Children are the responsibility of the parent/caregiver before and after class. Behavior must be monitored, volume must be kept at a reasonable level and all hallways, doorways, staircases and corridors must be kept clear. Children must be dropped off and picked up from class on time. If an emergency arises that prevents prompt pick up, please contact us immediately at 347-656-2617
Eating and drinking in the ballroom is prohibited with the exception of bottled water. Gum chewing is not allowed.
Students and parents are responsible for cleaning up after all classes prior to leaving the space and must clean up after themselves in all areas of DNA Dance Academy (lobby, hallways, ballroom, dressing rooms, bathrooms, etc.).
All students and adults are expected to behave with respect and consideration for all faculty, staff, studio employees, parents/guardians, visitors, and other students at all times. Bullying or any kind of physical or verbal abuse will not be tolerated.
Parents/Caregivers are allowed to remain in the building while their children are in class, but must wait in the lobby during class time.
Strollers are not allowed in the studios.
OTHER POLICIES
DNA Dance Academy reserves the right to change schedules, teachers, and studios at any time throughout the year if necessary.
